I was given Edwina’s details by a neighbour and asked her to come and help me make a start on curtains for 21 windows in my newly-renovated home, including three Veluxes and two enormous Edwardian Bays. We’re now about half-way through, because I’m trying to tackle the task (and expense) of curtains one window at a time, and Edwina has been brilliant in advising and guiding my thoughts and in making up each curtain to meet my timetable and without fuss or drama. She arrives at the house with site ladder and tools to put up each curtain and quietly goes about her business. Curtains are not cheap, if you do them properly, but they dress a room and make a dramatic impact the moment they go up (you know it’s worked when you just have to keep going in and looking at them!) and as such they represent an investment in the look and feel of a house, which is why I’d rather do them properly over time than rush them through quickly and cheaply. Edwina understands this and has been helpful in suggesting cost cutting measures where possible to achieve a high quality look without unnecessary expense, recommending her trade suppliers etc to source fabrics. I compared her first quote to a quote from local home spun curtain shop in Twickenham, to get an idea of market rates, and the shop quote was significantly more expensive, so I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Edwina from a service and price perspective.
